Martin leads on all technical aspects of the services provided by ESIA-CONSULT.

Martin has extensive professional expertise in infrastructure and its delivery i.e. major housing, roads, solar, minerals & waste. He is a highly experienced and respected planning expert in a career dedicated to delivering authoritative sustainability advice and thought-leadership at the highest level in the public and private sector. He is skilled in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Planning and Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD), across multiple sectors: major energy infrastructure, transport, housing, minerals, waste and linear infrastructure. He is a recognised expert in sustainability (Fellow of IEMA, now known as ISEP), with a deep understanding of how to sustainably deliver complex projects to those impacted by major infrastructure, in order to create a better place for people for present and future generations.

Dr Bridget Durning is an academic, sustainability and impact assessment specialist. As well as a being a Director of ESIA-Consult, she also teaches and researches at Oxford Brookes University in the UK. Her research and consultancy interests are in post project evaluation of the delivery of infrastructure, encompassing exploring practices in impact appraisal and cumulative effects assessment and the implementation of impact management tools and processes. As Director of ESIA-Consult, Bridget ensures that quality standards are kept high.

  • Manston airport, England

  • Brecha Forest onshore windfarm connection, Wales

  • Abergelli Power Station (299MWe gas turbine), Wales

Other examples of experience in major projects:

  • Provision of advice to local planning authorities in Southern England on EIA screening and scoping for solar developments below 50Mw

  • Advice to Port of Tilbury (London) on EIA related issues in NSIP application including project level cumulative effects assessment

  • Advice on EIA issues to developer of proposed Thames tunnel (London)

International
